About Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a beautiful seaside resort and artist community located along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), midway between Los Angeles and San Diego, in southern Orange County, California. It is approximately 24 miles (39 km) southeast of Santa Ana. Its population was 23,727 at the 2000 census. It is known for the seven miles of white sandy beaches and gorgeous green ocean, which are legendary worldwide, and the weather is some of the best on the planet. Possibly the most beautiful spot on earth is located at Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach. It has a small town, eclectic style, and the city has hundreds of local working artists, charming hotels, unique shops and restaurants, world famous art galleries and art festivals. Many movies and TV shows have been filmed there.

You can easily reach Laguna Beach by driving through Laguna Canyon. The drive is a nice change from high density living to rural wide open spaces leading down to the Pacific Ocean and Laguna Beach. The drive will take you by the sites of the Sawdust Festival, the Pageant of the Masters and Laguna Theater sites.

Seasonal pageants, festivals and cultural events round out the year's events in Laguna Beach. Four of the well-known festivals include the Sawdust Art Festival, Festival of Arts/Pageant of the Masters and Art-A-Fair. These annual festivals attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world who experience original artwork in many different forms. Scheduled throughout the summer and early fall, unique paintings, sculpture, photography and ceramics are just a few forms of art that visitors can enjoy.

Main Beach is very popular, and is located downtown. Most shopping is within walking distance. Main Beach is perfect for lying in the sun, people watching, body surfing or boogie boarding and you almost always see dolphins.

When it comes to dining, Laguna Beach has many favorite, long-established restaurants as well as extraordinary choices in many ethnic cuisines. For the trendy or traditional experience, the area has become known as one of the best dining destinations in Southern California.

Laguna Beach is primarily served by John Wayne/Orange County Airport, located 20 minutes away.

The overall quality is complex, dynamic and with a very pleasant sense of mystery. The villa is in excellent, well-maintained condition. One must see it from the ocean side to really appreciate its beauty.
David Wickland, Designer
The views from every window are exquisite. The private beach, both rare and divine. But it is the soul of Villa Rockledge that talks to me the most.
Roger W. Jones, Restorer, Villa Rockledge
It is my hope that Rockledge never be destroyed but be preserved for future generations to enjoy and appreciate. The substance, imagination and rustic beauty of Villa Rockledge are a tribute to early California architecture.
